Create an entry for every room
Photograph the full ceiling and visible defects from a normal viewing position without touching the texture. Note height, slopes, fixtures and access constraints. Use consistent room names across photos and requests. A dining room connected to a hallway can create several finish boundaries even when the spaces appear continuous. Include those transitions in the record.
Gather material history
Save prior testing, renovation records and known coating history. Appearance cannot establish whether a ceiling contains asbestos. EPA advises leaving suspect material undisturbed; ask a qualified professional about assessment before work. The record organizes evidence but does not replace assessment, establish a removal method or determine whether the room can remain occupied.
Record the intended change
For each room, state the preferred result and whether painting is included. Note fixture changes or repairs belonging to another trade. Share the same record with each estimator and ask what needs confirmation in person. Tacoma address and parking details help with logistics; they do not establish suitability, price or a business’s current availability.
Keep these questions with your notes
- Use consistent room names and photos.
- Keep existing reports with the record.
- State the desired result for each room.
